SATSA has shared a message from the French Ambassador, Aurélien Lechevallier, to any French non-resident citizens who might still find themselves stuck in South Africa and neighbouring countries.
“In this unprecedented international context, South Africa has taken strong measures in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, including the one that prevents you from going back to France or to your country of residence,” said Lechevallier.
He called for French tourists in the country who wish to go back to France or to their own country of residence, to contact the embassy via email. Please check the full statement here to see the information that the embassy requires.
“You can also send us information on circumstances that could make you vulnerable to the coronavirus or any information regarding your health condition, in particular if it involves a specific treatment,” Lechevallier said.
“Please declare yourselves to the Embassy or the Consulates if you think that you might have contracted the virus.”
