Southern Palms Beach Resort, on Diani Beach, Kenya, will be closed until August 15.
The resort closed in April for refurbishments that included the Makuti roofs, upgrades to the hotel complex, and regular maintenance work, and was due to reopen on July 31. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the hotel will now open on August 15.
Catherine Mwangi, Yield Manager of Southern Palms, has asked agents not to sell from July 31 to August 14, inclusive. “We were sure to have a grand opening on July 31 but, due to some unavoidable circumstances, we will not be opening on that date. We regret the inconvenience caused.”
Of the 298 standard en-suite bedrooms, 36 are ocean-facing rooms overlooking two swimming pools and tropical gardens. Room facilities include complimentary WiFi, a desk area, and room service.
There are six restaurants in the hotel complex, a gift shop, fitness centre, water sports and scuba diving centres, a children’s club, beauty salon and Internet business centre. Conference facilities can cater for up to 80 delegates, with adjoining syndicate rooms.
Activities at the resort include nature walks, bird watching, bike riding, and deep-sea fishing.
