Mashatu Euphorbia, a new luxury eco-lodge in the privately owned, baobab-studded Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana, will start welcoming guests from June 2020. Reservations are already open.
The intimate lodge, set high up on a cliff face amongst euphorbia succulents, with vistas of the Majele River and plains below, can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests over the age of 16, in eight private villas built with brick and mortar.
Each villa features a heated plunge pool overlooking the ravine below, inside and outside showers, an en-suite bathroom with a ‘loo with a view’, a number of ‘unplug’ (relax) areas, and complimentary WiFi.
Dining at Mashatu Euphorbia is in the boma, and Batswana staff are on hand to cater for guests’ every need.
Expert Motswana guides, with an average of 12 years’ experience on Mashatu alone, will host a maximum of four guests per safari vehicle, showcasing the daily sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, hyena and a variety of Africa’s plain game.
Activities include mountain biking, bush walks, horseback riding, and an underground photographic hide.
This ‘green’ camp combines luxury with conservation and sustainability, featuring solar energy and state-of-the-art water processing systems.
