Destination marketer, Destinate, has launched its own travel portfolio, Destinate Travel, consisting of uniquely packaged travel experiences, says Founder, Mariette du Toit-Helmbold.
She says Destinate Travel caters for “the conscious traveller who yearns for genuine connections with people and places”. “Our travel offerings reflect our values and focus primarily on women, families, design, food and wine and the unearthing of unusual experiences for travellers who want to go beyond the ordinary. Destinate Travel is a collection of our favourite places, experiences and the people who are the heart and soul of the places we visit, put together after more than twenty years working in travel and tourism.”
Travel partners include boutique hotels and wineries such as Lanzerac Spa & Hotel; private nature reserves and safari lodges like Grootbos Private Nature Reserve and Jaci’s Lodges; conservation champions like Marine Dynamics and Panthera Big Cat Sanctuary; and unique experiential operators like Bites and Sites Food Tours, Coffeebeans Routes and Shimansky. Each partner is hand picked to align with Destinate Travel’s philosophy of giving preference to independently owned and owner-run brands.
“Destinate Travel comes as a natural progression of the business we’ve been conducting since launching Destinate,” she said. “We’ve spent five years working closely with a range of tourism boards, tour operators, wine farms, brands and destinations to help shape their businesses and introduce them to a wider market.”
