Extraordinary announced on Tuesday (October 16) the addition of Safari Plains in the Waterberg region of South Africa, to its Extraordinary Collection.
Set in a malaria-free area against the backdrop of the Waterberg mountain range in Limpopo, the five-star tented lodge will welcome guests from December.
“Extraordinary feels privileged to launch Safari Plains as part of our luxury collection. This lodge will be fully managed by Extraordinary and thus offers us wonderful opportunities to create new itineraries and experiences,” comments Cindy Sheedy Walker, CEO of Sales and Marketing for Extraordinary.
Safari Plains will offer guests a safari experience on 12 000 hectares, an extension of the Greater Mabula Game Reserve.
Set along the winding sand pathways, each of the 20 safari-style tented suites can accommodate up to 60 guests, offering comfort and ambience, with timber wrap around decks, sunken baths, air-conditioning, separate showers and private facilities, including a fully stocked mini bar, fridge, as well as a tea and coffee station.
The six luxury tents offer a larger main area and come complete with a private sala, ideal for lounging on a sunny afternoon.
Safari Plains is family friendly and offers ‘family style’ luxury tents featuring a second bedroom with twin beds.
The main lodge area furnishings are African ‘chic’, and guests can enjoy à la carte menus and a full wine cellar.
Activities at Safari Plains include guided bush walks, horse trails, eco adventure trails with quad bikes, morning and afternoon guided safaris. A variety of additional activities are on offer at nearby Safari Plains, such as hot air balloon safaris and golf.
Guests will be able to view a range of wildlife, including buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, brown hyena and cheetah, to name a few.
Weddings can be hosted in the heart of the reserve, with every attention to detail taken care of, from fairy lights in the night sky to vibrant African entertainment. Wedding packages at Safari Plains are personalised and tailored to suit every need.
The lodge can accommodate up to 60 guests and, weather permitting, the wedding ceremony can be held in the bush or on the large wooden deck of the main lodge – which boasts beautiful vistas – followed by a luxurious reception in the dining room.
