FlyDubai adds Kilimanjaro to its network

FlyDubai began flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport on December 15, its third destination in Tanzania after Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of FlyDubai, said: “With our service to Kilimanjaro, we are responding to a growing demand for travel between the UAE and Tanzania. FlyDubai is the first UAE airline to offer direct air links to Kilimanjaro with the aim of connecting this market to Dubai and beyond, and offer travellers more choice and flexibility.”

The flights operate six times a week using a B737MAX8. Certain flights route via Dar es Salaam, raising the number of FlyDubai services to Tanzania to 14 a week. Emirates will codeshare on this route and as part of the Emirates FlyDubai partnership.

The flight schedule is as follows:
  • Flight FZ673 will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 02h40 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) at 07h45.
  • Flight FZ673 will depart JRO at 08h45, stop at Dar es Salaam and arrive in DXB at 17h45.
  • Flight FZ683 will depart DXB at 13h55 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, stop in Dar es Salaam and arrive in JRO at 21h05.
  • Flight FZ683 will depart JRO at 22h05 and arrive at DXB at 04h50 the next day.
Business-class return fares from Dubai to Kilimanjaro start at AED 4 525 (€1 027) and are inclusive of all taxes and 40kg checked baggage. Economy-class return fares from Dubai to Kilimanjaro start at AED 1 395 (€317) including 7kg of hand baggage.

FlyDubai joins eight other airlines in offering flights to Kilimanjaro – Emirates, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, British Airways and RwandAir.
