Tanzanian High Commission advises yellow fever injections

Written by
The Tanzanian High Commission in Pretoria is advising that all travellers get a yellow fever injection prior to travelling to Tanzania, excluding Zanzibar, despite Tanzania not being declared a yellow fever country at present.

The High Commission told Tourism Update that it is advising this as previous travellers have informed them that they have been asked by immigration officials to present proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival. The High Commission emphasised that it had not received any formal instruction for travellers to get vaccinated and that its advisory is purely due to what has happened with previous travellers.

The High Commission could not comment on why immigration officials are requesting proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival in Tanzania. Tourism Update will keep readers updated on this story.
