Wild Frontiers has been working closely with CSWCT, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Lake Victoria, and we were privileged to have been able to assist with managing transporation and reservations for day trips and the tented camp on the Island. This has helped CSWCT concentrate on educating the public and caring for the chimpanzees on the island, as well as in various forested areas around the country.
Management of the tented camp is now being taken over fully by CSWCT from 1 July 2011. In months to come, they may opt to change a few things on the island, but we will of course keep you closely appraised of any changes - but for now, its 'business as usual' with all current bookings secure.
The product range offered on Ngamba - day visits, and Chimpanzee Intergration & Caregiver programmes - will remain as the activity options on the island and we will continue to promote and book these activities through CSWCT for our guests.
Our boats will continue to be available for transfers to/from Ngamba as well as other trips such as sport fishing, sunset cruises, and birding trips on Lake Victoria.
We would like to thank CSWCT for the opportunity to work so closely with them, and assure them of our, and your, continued support of Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
If there are any specific queries and questions related to this change in camp management and proceedures please do not hesitate to ask for clarification from us.
